    Detailed Fee Components Explanation

Tuition Fee: This fee covers the cost of instruction, access to digital resources, laboratory facilities, and academic support services. It is a mandatory component for all students enrolled in the program.

Hostel Rent: Hostel accommodation provides safe and comfortable living environments for students. The rent includes utilities such as electricity, water supply, and basic maintenance services. Students can choose between single, double, or triple occupancy rooms based on availability.

Mess Advance: This advance payment covers mess charges for the entire semester. Students are required to deposit this amount before the start of each semester to ensure uninterrupted food service during their stay.

Student Benevolent Fund: This fund supports students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by providing financial assistance for emergencies, academic expenses, or special needs. Contributions are optional but highly encouraged.

Medical Fees: These fees cover basic medical services provided by the campus health center, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, and emergency care. Students are advised to maintain their health records and seek timely medical attention.

Gymkhana Fees: Gymkhana fees contribute to the maintenance and development of sports facilities and recreational activities on campus. These funds support fitness programs, tournaments, and extracurricular events that promote physical well-being and team spirit.

Examination Fees: Examination fees cover administrative costs associated with conducting end-of-semester tests, practical evaluations, and grading procedures. These fees ensure quality assessment and fair evaluation of student performance.

    Hostel & Mess Charges

The hostel facilities at Government Polytechnic Champawat are designed to provide a conducive environment for academic excellence and personal growth. Hostel rooms vary in size and amenities based on occupancy type:

    • Single Occupancy Room: ₹8000 per month, equipped with bed, study table, chair, wardrobe, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
    • Double Occupancy Room: ₹6000 per month, sharing a common area with one other student.
    • Triple Occupancy Room: ₹5000 per month, shared among three students.

Mess charges are calculated based on the number of meals provided daily. Students can opt for different meal plans including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The mess billing system is integrated with smart cards that deduct charges automatically upon meal consumption.

Rebate policies are applicable for students who miss meals due to valid reasons such as illness or travel. Rebates are processed after verification by the hostel administration and can be credited back to the student's account within a week.

    Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

Government Polytechnic Champawat offers various fee waivers and concession schemes to support deserving students from different backgrounds:

    • SC/ST/PwD Category: Eligible students receive a 100% waiver on tuition fees and a 50% concession on hostel rent.
    • EWS Category: Students in the Economically Weaker Section category are entitled to a 50% waiver on tuition fees and a 25% concession on hostel rent.
    • MCM (Meritorious Children of Meritorious Parents): Students from this category receive a 75% waiver on tuition fees and a 30% concession on hostel rent.

Income slabs for eligibility are as follows:

    • SC/ST/PwD: Annual income below ₹2 lakh
    • EWS: Annual income between ₹2 lakh and ₹5 lakh
    • MCM: Annual income between ₹5 lakh and ₹10 lakh

Applications for fee waivers must be submitted along with supporting documents such as caste certificates, income certificates, and Aadhaar cards. The application process is handled by the Finance Department and reviewed annually.

    Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

Students are required to complete their fee payments within the stipulated deadlines to avoid late fees or academic penalties:

    • Payment Deadlines: Fees must be paid before the start of each semester. Late payment incurs a penalty of ₹500 per day beyond the deadline.
    • Payment Methods: Payments can be made through online banking, NEFT/RTGS, credit/debit cards, or cash at the college office.
    • Refund Policy: Refunds are processed only in cases of withdrawal from the program or cancellation of admission. The refund amount is calculated after deducting administrative charges and any outstanding dues.

Students who wish to withdraw from the program must submit a written application to the principal with valid reasons. The refund process begins after verification by the finance department and approval from the higher authorities. Refunds are credited back to the original mode of payment within 30 working days.
