    Admissions

    Admission Process Overview

The admission to the Computer Science and Engineering program at Indian Institute of Information Technology Lucknow is primarily through JEE Advanced or JEE Main, with some seats reserved for students from specific categories. The process involves multiple stages, each designed to ensure a fair and transparent selection mechanism.

Applicants must first register online on the official website of IIIT Lucknow. After registration, they are required to fill out an application form with personal details, academic history, and preferences. Once submitted, candidates can download their admit card for examination purposes.

The next stage involves appearing for either JEE Advanced or JEE Main (depending on the category). For students from General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS categories, JEE Main is often sufficient. However, those seeking admission through JEE Advanced must qualify in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the exam.

After the exams, a merit list is prepared based on rank obtained in JEE Advanced or JEE Main, along with category-wise reservation policies. Candidates are then called for counseling sessions where they can choose their preferred institutions and courses based on available seats and their ranks.

    Application and Counseling Strategy

To maximize the chances of admission, aspirants should thoroughly research various institutions and their cutoff trends. It is advisable to prepare a list of preferred colleges based on previous years' data and personal preferences.

During counseling, candidates must carefully consider seat availability, location preferences, and branch priorities. The choice-filling strategy involves selecting a mix of safe, mid-tier, and top-tier options to optimize the probability of securing admission.

It is essential to understand the category-wise reservation policies and ensure that all necessary documents are ready for verification. For PwD candidates, additional documentation related to disability certificates may be required.

The counseling process typically includes online registration, document verification, seat allocation, and payment of fees. Candidates must log in regularly to check updates and complete all pending formalities on time.
