    Fee Components Explained

Each component of the fee structure serves a specific purpose in supporting student life and academic excellence. Understanding these components helps students and families plan their financial resources effectively.

Tuition Fee: This covers the cost of instruction, laboratory access, library resources, and administrative support provided throughout the program. It is designed to ensure that students have access to world-class facilities and faculty expertise.

Hostel Rent: Accommodation fees cover maintenance, utilities, security, and other services provided by the university hostel system. The rent includes room allocation, common area cleaning, and 24-hour security services.

Mess Advance: This advance payment covers meal expenses for the semester. Students are billed monthly based on consumption, with adjustments made at the end of each month to reflect actual usage.

Student Benevolent Fund: Contributions to this fund support students in financial distress, scholarship programs, and campus improvement initiatives. It reflects the university's commitment to social responsibility and student welfare.

Medical Fees: These fees cover basic healthcare services provided by the university's medical center, including consultations, immunizations, and routine check-ups. They ensure that students have access to timely medical attention during their studies.

Gymkhana Fees: These fees support extracurricular activities, sports facilities, cultural events, and student organizations on campus. They contribute to a well-rounded educational experience beyond academics.

Examination Fees: These cover the costs associated with conducting end-of-semester examinations, including question paper preparation, invigilation, grading, and result processing.

    Hostel & Mess Charges

The university offers various types of hostels to accommodate different preferences and budgets. Rooms are categorized based on amenities and comfort levels:

    • Single Occupancy Room: INR 40,000 per semester
    • Double Occupancy Room: INR 35,000 per semester
    • Triple Occupancy Room: INR 30,000 per semester

Mess charges are fixed at INR 25,000 per semester and include three meals daily. The billing system operates on a monthly basis, with adjustments made for actual consumption. Rebates are available for students who consume fewer meals or opt out of the mess service.

    Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

Manav Bharti University Solan recognizes the importance of financial accessibility and provides various forms of assistance to eligible students:

    • SC/ST/PwD Category: Students belonging to these categories receive a 50% concession on tuition fees, subject to verification of eligibility documents.
    • EWS Category: Eligible students receive a 25% concession on tuition fees, based on income criteria and documented proof of family earnings.
    • MCM (Meritorious Children of Military Personnel): These students receive full fee waiver for the duration of their studies, provided they meet the criteria set by the university.

Additional scholarships are available for meritorious students based on academic performance, extracurricular achievements, and community service. Applications for these scholarships are reviewed annually, with selection based on comprehensive evaluation criteria.

    Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

Payments must be made through the university's online portal using net banking or credit/debit cards. The payment deadline is strictly enforced to ensure timely processing and avoid late fees.

Late fees are charged at 5% per month on outstanding balances, with a maximum cap of INR 5000 per semester. Students are advised to make payments before the due date to avoid any penalties or disruptions in their academic activities.

In case of withdrawal from the program, the refund policy applies as follows:

    • Full refund is granted if withdrawal occurs within the first week of the semester.
    • Refund of 75% is provided if withdrawal occurs between the second and fourth week of the semester.
    • No refund is allowed after the fourth week of the semester, except in exceptional circumstances approved by the university administration.

Students are encouraged to consult with the finance department for specific queries regarding payment procedures and refund eligibility to ensure compliance with university policies.
