The Law program at Mata Tripura Sundari Open University Gomati is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of legal principles and practical skills necessary for a successful career in law. • Corporate Governance and Compliance: This course examines the principles and practices of corporate governance, focusing on regulatory frameworks, board responsibilities, and compliance mechanisms. Students will engage with real-world case studies involving major corporations and regulatory bodies.
• Digital Law and Cyber Security: This course explores the legal implications of digital technologies, including data protection, cybersecurity, and online privacy. It covers international treaties, national legislation, and emerging challenges in the digital age.
• Intellectual Property Rights: This course provides a comprehensive overview of intellectual property laws, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Students will learn about global IP regimes and their application in various industries.

Project-Based Learning Philosophy

The department strongly believes in project-based learning as a core component of legal education. Students are encouraged to engage in research projects that allow them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world issues. The process includes selecting a topic, conducting extensive research, and presenting findings through scholarly papers or policy briefs.

Mini-projects are conducted during the second year, where students work in teams on specific legal problems. These projects are supervised by faculty mentors and culminate in presentations and written reports that demonstrate analytical skills and legal reasoning.

The final-year capstone project is a significant component of the program. Students choose a topic related to their area of specialization and conduct original research under the guidance of a faculty mentor. The final thesis must be submitted at the end of the third year, demonstrating advanced knowledge and critical thinking skills in legal studies.
