Detailed Narrative Explanation of Fee Components

Tuition Fee: The tuition fee covers instruction, laboratory sessions, access to digital resources, and administrative support. It is subject to annual revision based on inflation and infrastructure improvements.

Hostel Rent: Hostel accommodation includes air-conditioned rooms, common areas, laundry facilities, and 24/7 security. The rent varies depending on room type and amenities provided.

Mess Advance: A monthly advance is collected to cover meals for the semester. Students are billed based on their consumption and can adjust balances accordingly.

Student Benevolent Fund: This fund supports students facing financial difficulties or emergencies. Contributions are optional but encouraged to foster a sense of community.

Medical Fees: Covers basic medical services, consultations, and emergency care provided by the university's health center.

Gymkhana Fees: These fees support recreational activities, sports events, and extracurricular programs that contribute to student wellness and development.

Examination Fees: Covers costs associated with conducting internal and external examinations, including proctoring, paper setting, and result processing.

    Hostel & Mess Charges

The university offers various room types in its hostels to accommodate different needs:

    • Single Occupancy Rooms: ₹45,000 per semester with attached bathrooms and Wi-Fi access.
    • Double Occupancy Rooms: ₹38,000 per semester with shared bathrooms and Wi-Fi access.
    • Triple Occupancy Rooms: ₹32,000 per semester with shared bathrooms and Wi-Fi access.

The mess charges are calculated based on the number of meals consumed. Students can choose between standard and premium meal plans, each with different pricing tiers.

Rebate policies allow students to receive partial refunds if they do not consume meals during specific periods or if they temporarily leave campus. These policies ensure fairness and flexibility in billing.

    Fee Waivers, Concessions, and Scholarships

Nist University Ganjam offers several financial aid options for eligible students:

    • SC/ST/PwD Category: Full fee waiver with additional support for hostel charges and mess advances.
    • EWS Category: 50% concession on tuition fees, along with partial rebates on other components.
    • MCM (Minority Community Students): 25% concession on tuition fees, subject to documentation verification.

Eligibility criteria are based on income slabs and caste certificates. Applications must be submitted before the start of the academic year and require supporting documents such as family income proofs and caste validity certificates.

    Payment Procedures & Refund Policy

All payments must be made through online portals using debit/credit cards, net banking, or NEFT/RTGS transfers. Late payments incur a penalty of ₹500 per day until the outstanding amount is settled.

Refunds are processed within 30 days of withdrawal from the program, subject to compliance with university regulations and refundable balances in each account. Students must submit formal requests via the designated portal along with required documentation to initiate the refund process.
