    Admission Process Overview

The admission to the Management Studies program at Satyendra Chandra Guria Institute Of Management Andtechnology is primarily based on performance in national-level entrance examinations such as JEE Advanced or JEE Main. Candidates must have completed their 12th-grade education with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or equivalent subjects.

Applicants begin by filling out an online application form available on the official website. The form requires personal details, academic history, qualifying examination scores, and preferences for admission categories. After submission, candidates receive a confirmation email with their unique application number.

The next stage involves document verification, where applicants submit scanned copies of required documents including 12th-grade mark sheets, identity proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and migration certificates. The verification process ensures all information provided is accurate and compliant with institutional policies.

Following document verification, candidates appear for the counseling session conducted by the institute. During this session, applicants select their preferred courses from a list of available programs based on their merit rank and category preferences. Seats are allocated according to the seat matrix published in advance.

    Admission Categories and Seat Allocation

Seats are allocated across several categories based on merit rank and reservation policy. The institute reserves 15% of seats for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 27% for Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and 3% for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). Additionally, 85% of seats are open to General Category candidates.

The selection process considers both JEE Advanced and JEE Main scores. For each category, a merit list is prepared based on normalized scores obtained in the qualifying examination. Candidates are then assigned seats according to their ranks and preferences during the counseling session.

    Exam Preparation Strategy

To succeed in the admission process, aspirants must begin preparing early and adopt a structured approach. Start by mastering core subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—with emphasis on conceptual clarity and problem-solving speed. Practice mock tests regularly to improve time management and accuracy.

Focus on understanding exam patterns and weightage of topics from previous years. Utilize coaching institutes or online resources for comprehensive coverage of syllabus content. Join study groups or forums where aspirants share tips, resources, and insights.

During the final phase before the examination, revise thoroughly and simulate actual test conditions. Analyze performance in mock exams to identify weak areas and address them promptly. Stay updated with current affairs, especially in domains relevant to business and management.

    Counseling Process

The counseling process is conducted in two phases: first round and second round. In the first round, candidates are offered seats based on their merit rank and preferences filled during application. If a candidate accepts an offer, they proceed to the next phase; otherwise, the seat remains vacant.

In the second round, remaining vacancies are filled through fresh preferences submitted by eligible candidates. This process continues until all available seats are allocated or no further rounds are scheduled.

It is crucial to understand the choice-filling strategy during counseling. Prioritize programs and categories based on personal preferences, rank predictions, and likelihood of securing admission. Avoid choosing too many options without considering realistic chances of selection.
