    Admission Process

The admission process for the Agriculture program at University of Science and Technology Meghalaya is designed to be transparent, fair, and aligned with national standards. The process is primarily based on performance in competitive entrance examinations such as JEE Main and JEE Advanced, though other qualifying exams are also accepted.

Applicants must first register online through the official university website. The registration process involves filling out a detailed application form with personal, academic, and contact information. Applicants are required to upload scanned copies of their 10th and 12th-grade certificates, identity proof, and other relevant documents.

After the initial registration, candidates must appear for the qualifying examination. For JEE Main, the exam is conducted twice a year, and candidates must score above the minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for counseling. For JEE Advanced, candidates must first qualify in JEE Main and then appear for the advanced examination.

Once candidates qualify, they must participate in the counseling process. The counseling is conducted by the university in coordination with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates must fill in their preferences for different programs and colleges based on their rank and category.

The final step in the admission process is seat acceptance. Candidates who are offered a seat must confirm their acceptance online and pay the required fees. The seat acceptance process is usually completed within a few days, and candidates are advised to complete it promptly to avoid losing their seat.

The syllabus covers topics from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, with a focus on science and engineering concepts.

It is recommended that candidates create a structured study plan that allocates time for each subject based on its weightage in the exam. Regular practice of sample papers and previous year question papers is essential to understand the exam format and identify areas of improvement.

Joining coaching classes or online preparation platforms can also be beneficial. These platforms offer expert guidance, mock tests, and detailed analysis of performance. Candidates should also focus on improving their time management skills and accuracy in solving questions.

    Counseling Process

It is crucial for candidates to carefully analyze their rank and the previous year's cutoffs before filling in their preferences. Candidates should also consider factors such as the location of the college, availability of facilities, and future career prospects while making their choices.

Once the preferences are filled, the counseling process begins, and candidates are allocated seats based on their rank and preferences. The allocation process is transparent and follows strict guidelines to ensure fairness and merit-based selection.
